The Friends of Sea Cliff Library is a group of volunteers whose mission is to support our local libraries. Through various fundraising activities and generous donations from the community, we are able to enhance library services and resources.

 

Recent donations have supported:

* Purchase of E-readers and i-Pads for the Children's Library

* New computers for the Adult Library

* Table and chairs for patrons' outdoor Wi-Fi use

* Free family passes to the:

• American Museum of Natural History

• Brooklyn Botanic Gardens

• Cradle of Aviation

• Garvies Point Museum

• The Guggenheim

• Long Island Children's Museum

• Museum of Modern Art

• Nassau County Museum of Art

• NY Hall of Science

• NY Historical Society

• Old Westbury Gardens

• 9/11 Museum

* Digitization and indexing of historical local newspapers

* "The Library of Things," including telescopes plus bird watching binoculars and birding guides

* Special programs at the Children's and Adult's Library including:

• Pretzels and Paperbacks (book groups)

• Crafty Kids (craft bags)​

* Selected renovations and repair of the children's and adult's libraries. Sponsorship of community events:​

• Open Mic Poetry Night

• Annual Giant Gently Used Book Sale

• Offbeat Artifacts Sales

• Local pub "FUN(d)-raisers," including Trivia Nights

• Library Open Houses

• Tea and Tulips at Children's Library
